Thank you Spreets! Thank you for introducing me to 29th Apartment @ 29 Fitzroy Street St Kilda.
The Spreets voucher that I bought was:
Only $19 for $62 Worth of Tasty Value at One of St Kilda’s Coolest New Bars, 29th Apartment. Your Deal Includes 2 Gourmet Pizzas & Bottle of Wine. Your Night Out Sorted!
2 Gourmet Pizza’s AND a bottle of wine… and all for $19! My husband and I were jumping out of our skins in excitement. So much so that we bought two vouchers and took the Sister and Brother in laws.
When you read $19 for 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine, I bought you think that they must be individual pizzas. I sure did! I was expecting just a serving worth. Frankly, that would have been a good deal. What we received was an actual large pizza. The crust was superb and all four gourmet toppings were creative, used the best ingredients and delicious. The wine was also surprising good. Definitely not from the bottom of the barrel either. We ordered both red and white variety and really enjoyed sipping it slowly (*cough*).
The atmosphere is completely different than what you would see anywhere else. It’s advertised as a New York Style Apartment atmosphere and since I had no idea what exactly that meant, I was not (or could not be) disappointed. It was dark with lots of lights and candles everywhere. There were lots of vintage memorabilia everywhere with bright colours everywhere, which really clashed with the dim lights. This made 29th Apartment all the funkier.
From outside, the “lounge” in the New York Style Apartment looked really cool. 29th Apartment had some couches as well as some stools and small tables. There really isn’t enough room in these seats or tables to eat but once we snagged a couch it was all good. Personally, I’m not a fan of sitting in couches in pubs because of the background noise (I find it difficult to hear the conversation around me) but it was nice. I think we may have even ordered another bottle to “sip” after dinner.
All in all the evening at 29th Apartment in St Kilda was a HUGE success, and all thanks to Spreets!
